Clinical Trials

Clinical Trials

Clinical research is how medicine moves forward—and it has been a cornerstone of Dr. Deena Kuruvilla's career. She has served as an investigator on clinical trials of emerging headache treatments, including published randomized controlled trial research on external trigeminal nerve stimulation for acute migraine, and her work has appeared in leading journals such as Cephalalgia and JAMA Neurology. At Brain Health Institute, we continue that commitment by participating in clinical trials that bring promising new therapies to the patients who need them most.

For patients, clinical trial participation can offer meaningful benefits: access to innovative treatments before they are widely available, close monitoring by an expert clinical team, and the opportunity to contribute to research that may help millions of others living with neurological conditions. Trials may involve new medications, medical devices, or novel approaches to conditions such as migraine and other headache disorders. Every trial conducted through our practice follows rigorous scientific and ethical standards, with patient safety and informed consent as the highest priorities.

If you are interested in learning whether a clinical trial might be right for you, we invite you to reach out. Eligibility depends on factors such as your diagnosis, treatment history, and overall health, and Dr. Kuruvilla will help you understand exactly what participation involves—including potential benefits, risks, and time commitments—so you can make a fully informed decision. Participation is always voluntary and never a requirement of care at our practice. To ask about current or upcoming trial opportunities, contact our office at 203-391-6105 or info@brainhealthct.com.
